Court Liaison Position Summary:

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking a Court Liaison to ensure resolution of concerns presented by patients and/or their families. The Court Liaison will also serve as primary liaison for the District Attorney’s office and Probate Courts of Harris County for all patients for whom applications for court ordered mental health services are pending, or in process.

Court Liaison Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate, organize, monitor and ensure compliance with legal processes that are required for court committed and/or involuntary patients.
  • Provide the management and administration of the legal processes that are required by area courts regarding involuntary patients.
  • Monitor status daily for all patients under court order and notify DA staff immediately if person is discharged.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients’ medical information.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in a health care environment; experience in a Psychiatric setting preferred.

License: Must have a valid driver's license

Certifications: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
