Flooring Installer duties and responsibilities A Flooring Installer typically handles the entire flooring installation process, from measuring and preparing materials to installing and finishing the floor. Specific duties and responsibilities to consider for your Flooring Installer job.

**Responsibilities:**
+ A Flooring Installer performs the installation process of all types of flooring in both residential and commercial buildings
+ Typical duties you may wish to include are preparing the work surface by removing the existing flooring, measuring and cutting the new material and securely installing the new flooring
+ Removing and disposing of the old flooring material
+ Cleaning and preparing the bare work surface
+ Measuring the new flooring material
+ Attaching the flooring using adhesives and other fasteners based on the type of material
+ Checking the installation to ensure the flooring is straight and level
+ Applying any finishing materials, such as grout on tile or stain on wood
+ Ensuring work area and projects remain clean and tidy
+ Explaining care requirements to owners
**Qualifications:**
+ Ability to use power and hand tools
+ Precision and attention to detail
+ Basic math and measurement skills
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills
+ Understanding of blueprints and other project documentation
+ Ability to manipulate and position flooring materials in place
+ Knowledge of the installation process for different flooring types
