Job Description

The Project Manager will work with multi-disciplinary teams, overseeing project staff and subcontractors, providing guidance to ensure each project meets operational standards. This includes developing a detailed scope of work, budget and schedule, conducting risk management assessments and maintaining health, safety and environmental compliance. The Ideal candidate will work on-site in Elko, Nevada.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project plans that include scope, schedule and budget.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, quality of work and materials used to maintain project standards.
  • Prepare required reports and forecasts.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments – identifying and developing strategies to reduce risks
  • Conduct project evaluations and lessons learned to improve future projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining or construction industries.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering .
  • P. Eng registered.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite of programs, including MS Project.
  • Experience with SAP and P6 is an asset .
  • Demonstrate an understanding of project management methodologies and principles.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrate active listening and an ability to communicate technical concepts with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Previous experience with Underground dewatering projects, Ventilation, and Shaft infrastructure.
  • Underground material handling (conveyors, crushers, grizzlies, etc.)
  • Railways
  • Underground mining experience
